Mark Making
Here are some ways that you can make marks and textures on your lino
Design Ideas
If you're new to lino printing, think about creating a simple design which you can then play with when it comes to experimenting with printing and colour!
Patterns and abstract designs can be incorporated inside shapes and everyday images
Simple Lines and Patterns can be connected to the outline of images
Squares and other shapes can be used ‘behind’ an image to create dramatic effect, or lend itself as a ‘border’ to inverse the image in front of it, to it becomes a negative version of the rest of the print
Colour can also be used in interesting ways. Layering colour can give depth and shadow to a single print, as well as repetitive patterns for a larger design. The linoprint can also serve as part of a bigger illustration.
