I present to you to this William Morris inspired workshop in Amsterdam!
After this workshop you will not only have a new set of knowledge of how you can develop the craft yourself, but also a selection of prints to take home and a block that you can use repeatedly in the future. You will also have hopefully made some lovely new friends and memories.
The introduction to lino printing workshop includes:
-
Development of your own design, inspired by the artist and designer William Morris with access to reference materials
-
Materials for the session: lino block available in size A6, cutting tools, tracing paper, a spoon (very important!) and a variety colourful ink pads and paper to print with.
-
In depth demonstrations and close guidance throughout the session. This is ensured by keeping groups small (3-6 people)
-
Snacks, cakes and beverages
During this session we will work on a theme that you can adapt and reimagine as your own. When making the designs we will be working with reference materials and pre drawn ideas. These can then be printed out and traced onto the block. After transferring this design to a lino block you can then cut out using the tools provided. Once completed, and refreshed after a snack and a drink you will focus on printmaking and playing with colour and design of the final outcome.
